Study Day: “Generating and Using Data in the Digital Decade”
Date
30.05.2025
Location
Rome – Italy
On Friday, May 30th – from 10:00 to 18:00 CEST, the Italian Forum of ERICs, in collaboration with the CNR – Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche, organises the Study Day: Generating and Using Data in the Digital Decade, to be held at the CNR premises in piazzale Aldo Moro, 7 – Rome, Italy, and online.
In an era defined by unprecedented digital interconnection and computing power, the generation, use, and governance of research data and metadata have become crucial scientific, economic, and regulatory issues. As the European Union defines its 2030 Digital Decade targets, research infrastructures are more central than ever – both as major producers, and as users of data.
In this evolving landscape, new models of collaboration are emerging, such as EDICs (European Digital Infrastructure Consortia) and the EOSC (European Open Science Cloud) Federation.
This study day will explore the strategic role of data in the digital transition, offering insights into:
- The interplay between research infrastructures and EU digital policies
- Legal and regulatory challenges in data use
- New organisational frameworks for data sharing and governance
Who Should Attend:
Researchers, policy makers, legal experts, research infrastructure managers, and all stakeholders involved in the digital and scientific data ecosystem.
The event has been organised with the support of CERIC-ERIC, E-RIHS, and the Istituto di Scienze del Patrimonio Culturale – ISPC-CNR
