Science@CERIC is CERIC’s biennial scientific meeting, bringing together researchers, facility users, and beamline scientists from across the CERIC community to showcase cutting-edge research, exchange ideas, and foster new collaborations.

Held every two years, the event highlights the breadth of science enabled by CERIC’s distributed research infrastructure through a series of thematic sessions featuring both invited keynote lectures and selected scientific contributions from CERIC users and beamline scientists.

The programme of this edition, that will be held in Malta from the 10th to the 12th of November, is organised into five consecutive sessions covering key research areas:

Life Sciences
Materials Science
Energy Materials
Cultural Heritage
Food

Science@CERIC provides a unique opportunity to discover the latest scientific achievements, explore interdisciplinary approaches, and strengthen connections within the CERIC network. Whether you are a long-standing user or new to the CERIC community, the event offers an inspiring forum for sharing knowledge, discussing emerging research challenges, and building future collaborations.

The Science@CERIC 2026 Programme Committee comprises a number of Directors and Scientists of the Consortium’s Partner and Associated Facilities:

Janez Plavec – Co-Chair of the event and Chair of the Life Sciences session
Marcin Sikora – Co-Chair of the event and Chair of the Materials Science session
Heinz Amenitsch – Chair of the Energy Materials session
Alessandra Gianoncelli – Chair of the Cultural Heritage session
Catherine Simoneau – Chair of the Food session

Each session will combine Keynote presentations (K) delivered by internationally recognised experts with short scientific talks presenting recent results and innovative applications from the CERIC user community and facility scientists.
