Conference VERSO L’ENERGIA DEL FUTURO | Towards the energy of the future

In the frame of the Science Festival, Trieste NEXT 2021, taking place from 24 to 26 September 2021 in Trieste, Italy, CERIC and its Italian representing entity, Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, have organised a conference with a focus on energy research, to be held on Saturday, 25th September 2021, from 16:30 to 17:45 CEST, at Museo Sartorio, Largo Papa Giovanni XXIII, 1 – Trieste, Italy.

Speakers
  • Martina Dell’Angela, Researchers at CNR-IOM
  • Antonella Iadecola, Research Engineer at CNRS – Centre national de la recherche scientifique
  • Paola Luches, Researcher at Istituto Nanoscienze CNR in Modena
  • Lorenzo Stievano, Professor of Inorganic Chemistry at the University of Montpellier
Moderator

Claudio Masciovecchio, Director of the FERMI free electron laser at the Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste Laboratory.

Conference topic:

Green revolution and ecological transition are the great objectives underlying the future economic choices of Europe and the whole world. Among the pillars of energy sustainability there is the production of clean energy, for example through photocatalysis, and the need to store it using rechargeable batteries, both for stationary and mobile use. Thanks to the complementary characteristics of the FERMI free electron laser and the Elettra synchrotron, and to the characterisation techniques available at CERIC-ERIC, it is possible to study the electronic phenomena underlying the functioning of these two classes of materials during their operation.
