CERIC meets the Austrian research community

You are cordially invited to explore opportunities for Austrian researchers and research organisations to access large and medium scale facilities across Central Europe through Austria’s membership in CERIC-ERIC, the Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium*.

The event will take place on Monday, June 23rd, from 9:00 to 11:00 am CEST, in Vienna, and will cover the following topics:

  • Introduction to CERIC – underlying principles, means of access and collaborative initiatives, key achievements to date and brief overview of Partner Facilities.
  • Capabilities and selected scientific outputs at CERIC Partner Facilities.
  • Prioritised areas of research in the Austrian scientific community. Strengths and need for improved access to large- and mid-scale research facilities.
  • Discussion of future opportunities arising from closer engagement between the Austrian research community and CERIC.

*CERIC offers and facilitates free access to over 60 instruments and techniques for researchers from diverse scientific domains. These include techniques based on synchrotron radiation, neutrons, electron microscopy, NMR, ion beams, as well as surface science, with facilities available across eight member countries. It also supports collaborative projects and PhD students to optimize the exploitation of such infrastructure, as well as support for travel and accommodation and training for non-experts when performing experiments at CERIC. The Consortium also collaborates with industry, contributing to science-driven innovation, offering services for commercial users on market-based conditions.
