24th Call for Proposals now closed

|

The 24th CERIC-ERIC Call for Proposals (semester 2026.1) has officially closed. The Call is a unique occasion for researchers from all over the world working in the fields of materials, biomaterials and nanotechnology to request open access to more than 60 instruments and support laboratories, through a single entry-point.

During this Call, a total of 154 proposals has been collected. Since several of them included access request to multiple tools and laboratories, demonstrating the strong complementary nature of the techniques available through our Consortium, there was a total of 211 instruments requested. Starting from 2023, the Italian PF has reduced the available beamtime for energy cost reasons, followed by a shutdown of the online beamlines to allow the installation of the new Elettra 2.0 machine, resulting in a decrease in demand. Considering this, the number of received proposals and requested instruments have risen steadily in the latest Calls:

Proposals came from 29 countries all over the world (considering the affiliation of the proposals’ principal investigators), reflecting the strong international dimension on which CERIC-ERIC is based. Among them, Italy, Poland and Czech Republic have been the most represented countries.

Now all the proposals will undergo to a technical and scientific evaluation made by an independent review panel.
