3rd CERIC Satellite Event at the NESY Winterschool
Date
22.02.2026 - 27.02.2026
Location
Bad Aussee (Austria)
Following the first two editions in 2017 and 2019, a new CERIC Satellite Event took place at the NESY Winterschool & Symposium on Neutron and Synchrotron Radiation, on 22-27 February 2026.
About the CERIC Satellite Event
The 3rd CERIC Satellite Event presented a series of lectures aimed at graduate students and early-stage researchers to expand their scientific knowledge in materials science. Our Executive Director, Dr Andrew Harrison, and scientists from CERIC Partner Facilities introduced the participants to what our Consortium offers, specifically through sessions on TEM techniques (Dr Corneliu Ghica, National Institute of Materials Physics, Bucharest), ion beam techniques (Dr Zdravko Siketic, Ruđer Bošković Institute, Zagreb), and XFEL techniques (Dr Heinz Amenitsch, TUGraz at Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste).

About the NESY Winterschool
NESY is a division of the Austrian Physical Society (ÖPG), representing the research groups focused on science using neutron and synchrotron radiation. The scientific activities within NESY are presented in meetings and workshops, like the NESY Winterschool. The programme of the school includes introductory tutorials, scientific talks, topical highlight lectures and a continuous poster session.
A poster dedicated to the OPVStability project
Among the participants in the Winter School was PhD student Devina Gupta, who is involved in the OPVStability project as CERIC-ERIC researcher.
Devina presented a poster on her research, which focuses on the impact of active layer domain size in binary and ternary organic photovoltaic cells on their long-term stability.
