PaNOSC project: new paper published

|

A research paper, developed within the context of the Photon and Neutron Open Science Cloud (PaNOSC) project, was recently published on the CODATA Data Science journal.

PaNOSC is a European project, funded in the framework of the Horizon 2020 programme and of which CERIC is a member, that aims at making FAIR data a reality in six European Research Infrastructures (RIs), developing and providing services for scientific data and connecting these to the European Open Science Cloud (EOSC).

Workflow of the DMP in the Photon and Neutron facilities (from datascience.codata.org)

In particular, after describing the context and aim of PaNOSC, the paper reports the project approach (based on the concept of active data management plans and a common template of questions) and process used to choose a common data management plans (DMPs) tool. In fact, one of the tasks of PaNOSC for FAIR data was to develop a template for the DMPs and to implement these for the involved RIs. Then, the deployment of the tool and its integration in the different facilities’ data workflows is described in more detail, allowing to understand some of the main PaNOSC achievements and implications.
