Postdoc Fellow position – Division of Experimental Physics – Laboratory for Ion Beam Interactions at RBI – Closed

The Central European Research Infrastructure Consortium, CERIC–ERIC, is a multidisciplinary Research Infrastructure open for basic and applied research in all fields of Materials, Biomaterials and Nanotechnology. Position description

Postdoctoral Fellow position in the Division of Experimental Physics, Laboratory for Ion Beam Interactions, for full-time (40 hours/week) research work on applications of ion beams for ion beam analysis and material modification studies related to experiments/projects approved by the CERIC-ERIC consortium, for the period of 2 years, with the possibility for extension for other 2 years, subject to positive evaluation of work during the first period. The position is associated with special working conditions (ionizing radiation, category B) and medical examination is necessary prior to contracting. PhD in natural sciences related to physics is required. The candidates with the experience in the work with electrostatic accelerators, research on ion beam – materials interactions and applications of nuclear methods for material characterization will have advantage.

Eligibility Criteria

Prerequisites for Appointment to a Postdoctoral position: In addition to the general conditions for employment, applicants must meet the requirements stipulated in Article 43 in the Scientific Activity and Higher Education Act. Applications should include: resume, evidence of the required academic degree, e-mail of at least one person to provide recommendation and other evidence that the conditions and additional criteria are fulfilled.

Appointment to a Postdoctoral Fellow position is for a temporary period of 24 months with probation period of 6 months; and with the possibility for extension for other 2 years, subject to positive evaluation of work during the first period.
